I am absolutely thrilled that I am in the cake article in Your Surrey Wedding Magazine, issued in February 2024.
I was asked to comment on new trends and submitted a few different photos and two were chosen.
A wafer paper all white design as a new trend and our classic cupcake towers that is super popular at the moment. With lots of orders this year.
It was an honour to be asked to contribute and be amongst other cake experts that I admire!

Buttercream Palette Painted Cake at Nonsuch Mansions

I got invited to Nonsuch Mansion for the wedding fayre on Saturday 20 January. The Saturday thing really threw me as usually it's a Sunday but January's quiet so no deliveries in the diary.
And I decided to create a new dummy cake, inspired by a bride who contacted me with a blue and navy theme.
I used various palette knives with buttercream to create this effect. It was so much fun and great to just get creative.
And when I arrived at the venue, this was the perfect spot for a photo!
December / Christmas Wedding Cake ideas

A few years ago if you asked me a about a Christmas wedding I'd have said 'not for me' but nowadays I absolutely adore them.
And the cakes can be so different including lots of different ideas. And I love to add fairylights to anything. They just make me very happy.
Here are a few we did this year including burgundy and gold wedding cake with trees and snow slopes. Classic green and whites with fairy lights and then one with some little pine cones added. And the final one is blue which maybe isn't so wintery but still looked lovely.
I highly recommend a Winter wedding particularly in the stunning venues of Burford Bridge Hotel and Horsley Towers.

Textured Buttercream cake to Surrey National

Lovely 3 tier buttercream cake at Surrey National Golf Club in Chaldon near Caterham.
Gorgeous flavours of luscious lemon, salted caramel and victoria sponge.
Delivered on Saturday and set up with faux flowers and the crystal pedestal for elegance.

What a fab Sunday setting up for a beautiful wedding fayre.
I met so many lovely couples and chatted to suppliers and the super staff at Nutfield Priory.
I really enjoyed setting up a dessert table which really showed off our iced biscuits and mini cupcakes.
Chic Wedding helped dress the table with some lovely voile material and some fresh roses. The room looked amazing with their show stopping table displays.
The lovely Emma from Cherished Cards added simple place cards which looked really good against the gold opulence.
The iced biscuits went down so well and I discussed with many couples that these could be personalised to their wedding requirements, with names and wedding date.
Also a great option for favours that we can bag for your guests to take away. A very tasting treat for the day after.

I'm so delighted with this latest venue as two of my best friends and my sister both had fantastic weddings here. So I know you are in good hands.

I am so in love with this cake. After covid, it is a joy to be back doing the weddings.
And this little beauty was left to me. The bride sent me some flower, table centre and bridesmaid dress photos, along with some other cake maker pix and I was left to come up with the design.
I loved making the blush pink, quick sand rose inspired flowers and the lace was from a mould I bought from another cake but didn't end up using at the time.
The bride, who got married at Wotton House in Dorking, was thrilled with the cake, saying it was 'perfect', 'exceeded our expectations' and 'absolutely delicious'. What review could be better!
